Research at FAU
Fulton Adventist University is setting out to be a research-driven university — producing nationally and internationally recognised work and ensuring teaching is research-led.

Research Fund
- An initial annual research fund of FJD $30,000 is established to support FAU research activities.
- Faculty members may present at one international conference and two local conferences annually — supported by FAU.
- Faculty members who publish in journals, books or chapters affiliated with FAU are rewarded FJD $200.
- Faculty members who present at affiliated conferences are rewarded FJD $100.
Research Conference
FAU organises one international research conference on campus every year — bringing together scholars from across the Pacific and beyond.
Research Training
- Research training organised once every semester for both faculty and students.
- A writing centre supports faculty and students in presenting their research findings.
Research Ethics
All primary research involving human subjects requires approval from the FAU Research Ethics Committee. Students and staff must submit a completed Research Ethics application form. Decisions are communicated within 7 days of submission.
Requirements for Academic Staff
- All academic staff are required to conduct research and publish at least once per year in a reputable journal.
- Staff failing to publish after three consecutive years will be served a notice of non-performance.
- Faculty may become members of two professional bodies, with fees paid by FAU.
- Research Assistants — FAU graduates who are research-oriented — are engaged to support faculty research.
